（路透華盛頓13日電）聯合國秘書長潘基文說，他希望泰國能實踐泰王蒲美蓬（Bhumibol Adulyadej）擁護普世價值與尊重人權的政績。潘基文的發言人於泰王逝世後發表這份聲明。
泰王蒲美蓬在位70年，今天病逝醫院，享壽88歲。根據潘基文的聲明稿，蒲美蓬曾於2006年獲聯合國開發計畫署（United Nations Development Programme）頒發終身成就獎（Lifetime Achievement Award）。中央社（翻譯)
